Clinton County New York Dog Tethering Law Campaign

DON’T WAIT FOR “SOMEONE” TO STOP ANIMAL ABUSE. YOU ARE SOMEONE.

Area 7 Legislator Rob Timmons- Clinton County, New York

“How you treat animals, tells me everything I need to know about you.”

“How hard you fight to keep dogs on chains, tells me even more about you.”

Rob Timmons Legislator Area 7 (Republican)- Rob Timmons is the legislator for Ausable and Peru. The Town of Ausable has created their own Dog Tether Law (they were the first out the gate) while the Town of Peru has made it clear that they are against a law. Despite 25 residents attending a Peru town meeting back in February 2025, the town board still refuses to consider creating a Dog Tethering Law. The town residents keep pushing for a town law, but their efforts continue to be ignored.

After the October 2024 Resolution vote Rob Timmons told me that he didn’t even read the law, and that he will never during his term vote for the Dog Tethering Law even if both of his towns were in support of it. This shows how closed minded some people can be. He is unwilling to do any research whatsoever, and unwilling to listen to his constituents. In this case it’s about what Rob Timmons wants, and that’s about it.

Rob Timmons voted against allowing us a pubic hearing in both October 2024, and June of 2025. He indicated he feels a public hearing would be a waste of time, as he has heard everything we have to say already. Nothing will change his mind. He is up for re-election in 2027 and we need to VOTE HIM OUT!
