On August 19, 2025 Ellenburg held its so called “Dog Tethering Law public hearing.” There was no law to propose, yet town residents came out to fight hard against our law proposal. From the second the public hearing started, we were under attack.
It was very unfortunate, but not one single town resident who attended the Ellenburg Dog Tethering Law public hearing made a single valid point based on actual facts. Everything they argued showed they know nothing about a dog tethering law. It wasn’t only an attack on our law proposal, it was a personal attack on me, and none of it was true. I was accused of being from the city, which I am not. I was accused of trespassing on people’s property to take pictures, which I have never done. I was accused of making up lies about Francis Peryea, which again is not true—Anyone can go watch the legislature meetings on video, and read the meeting minutes to see the actual truth. Hunters were there arguing that they should be able to chain their dogs outside 24/7. Even as we were leaving we were being accosted at the door, and we were told to “go back to the city” and to get out of their town. The entire experience was completely insane. The next morning I was told by a reliable source that much of that was set-up. Francis Peryea strikes again.
